IEEE Xtreme (3 programming competitions)
IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members—advised and proctored by an IEEE member, and often supported by an IEEE Student Branch—compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, during Mr. Boulogeorgos’ tenure, organized three IEEE Xtreme competitions.
IEEE DAY (3 photo contests)
IEEE Day: Celebrating the first time in history when engineers worldwide and IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884.
Worldwide celebrations demonstrate the ways thousands of IEEE members in local communities join together to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. To celebrate “IEEE DAY” student branches all over the world participate in an international photo contest.
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, during Mr. Boulogeorgos’ tenure, participated in the three photo contests. This was important because the members of the executive committee of the branch had the opportunity to develop team spirit and organization skills.
The Aristotle Univ. of Thessaloniki IEEE Student Branch, in collaboration with Student Guru Thessaloniki and Microsoft Hellas, organized a national competition concerning developing applications for Windows 8. The purpose of the competition was to develop application for Windows Phone and upload them to the Microsoft App store. The application submission was until the end of June 2013 and the applications were presented in a mini symposium in the Aristotle University.
3 for 1 Challenge
The Aristotle Univ. of Thessaloniki IEEE Student Branch with Microsoft Student Guru of Thessaloniki organized in April 2012 the national windows phone programming competition “3 for 1”.
